What is a QR Code? QR Codes, like the one shown, are similar to product bar codes, but they are much more sophisticated. QR is short for Quick Response, since it can be instantly read by Smartphones equipped with the correct application. Unlike standard product bar codes, QR codes are not limited to identifying individual products. What Can a QR Code Do? When you create a QR code, you decide what action will be taken when someone scans it. There are a number of actions you can select for your QR code, including: opening a web address, displaying some text, dialing a phone number, saving contact information to the user's address book, or sending a text message (SMS).
